The Singapore Taekwondo Federation will be conducting open selection trials for the following competitions.
- YOG Qualification Tournament for Kyorugi only (Born in 2001 or 2002 only) (6 to 13 April 2018, Hammamet, Tunisia)
- Asian Senior Taekwondo Championships (24 to 27 May 2018, Hochiminh City, Vietnam)
All affiliates are invited to participate in the open trials.
The selection details are as follows.

Time : Poomsae (Asian Championships only)
Trial – 1.00pm *Poomsae - Recognized Poomsae Koryo to Hansu (17 years & above)
New Poomsae (Bigak, Himchari, Saebyeol)
(*2 recognized poomsae and new poomsae will be selected at random) Kyorugi (YOG Qualification & Asian Championships)
Weigh-in – 12.00pm
Trial – 1.30pm (full contact with head kick)
All participants must be SINGAPORE CITIZENS and are STF black belt holders. The WT Global Athlete Licence and Kukkiwon certification are mandatory for all players.
Please fill in the attached forms and submit them to the Secretariat by Friday 26 January 2018. There is no limit to the number of players each affiliate can field. We reserve the right not to accept late submission, incomplete forms or registration without the necessary supporting documents.
Registered players for the trials are to report at the STF National Training Centre by 12.00pm. Kyorugi players shall be considered for the category based on their actual weight on the day of the weigh-in and not according to the weight submitted in the form as we do not want to disqualify any players. No weight allowance will be given.
Selected players will be required to fulfill the training requirements averaging 12 hours per week.
The panel of selectors will comprise any 3 of the following senior technical members.

- Mr Tan Cheng Hui
- Mr Michael Ho
- Mr Jimmy Tay
The player’s undertaking form is also attached. The form must be signed by parents for players under the age of 21 years old. Players will not be allowed to participate in the trials if they do not comply with the administrative requirements. Players with medical history must provide medical clearance from their doctor.
The trials would be open for observation by participants and the registered accompanying coaches (must be Level 2 qualified) only. Please note that no photography and video recording will be allowed.
