The much-anticipated inaugural Singapore Open Virtual Taekwondo (VTKD) Championships will be held on 8 and 9 June 2024 at STF Training Centre, 7 Bedok North Street 2, Singapore 469646

COMPETITION CATEGORIES

Submission of registration form(s) with payment is at STF office, 7 Bedok North Street 2, Singapore 469646, Mondays to Fridays, 9am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 5pm. The registration closing date is 17 May 2024. The competition outlines with the rules and forms is appended for download.

STF Virtual Taekwondo Championships – Invitation to join VTKD Technical Officials

Virtual Taekwondo is fun, inclusive and exciting and enable people of all ages, weight class and gender to compete against one another without barrier as it is non-contact sparring. Virtual Taekwondo is a technological innovation whereby taekwondo athletes don on VR headset and motion tracking nodes and use the body as game controller to compete against the avatar of their opponent.


To develop and promote this innovative version of taekwondo and excite the youth and likewise the masters, the STF Virtual Taekwondo (VTKD) Committee welcomes affiliated members/taekwondo athletes to be on board as VTKD Technical Officials and training will be provided.


The technical officials comprise Game Master (GM) and Technical Support Personnel (TS) who are key to the smooth operation of the VTKD in additional to referees. The technical officials will be trained on the game’s system and the technology used, setting up the gameplay and understanding of the rules of taekwondo and their application to VTKD games.


The Game Master is the main controller of gameplay and he/she enforces the rules of the game, taking appropriate action when rules are violated. The Technical Support Personnel is responsible for diagnosing and resolving technical issue that the athlete may encounter on the field of play (FOP). Training will commence from 3rd week of April 2024 onwards in preparation for the championships.


If you have strong interest to learn and contribute to the growth of a new sport, VTKD, aged 13 to beyond 80, we are happy to hear from you. Tech savvy is a plus but not a must. Please email your name, name of affiliated club and contact number to stfvtc@gmail.com the soonest.

Notice – Reminder for Application of Coach Pasess for 2024/2025 by 28 March 2024

Please be reminded the application of coach passes are to be submitted by Thursday, 28 March 2024 to the Singapore Taekwondo Federation (STF) Office with the fee and necessary documents including photos (physical copy). Incomplete submission without payment will not be able to be processed. There shall be no temporary pass issued.

Please collect the passes from STF office in accordance with the period stipulated.
Uncollected passes will be disposed at the end of that month.

The Kyorugi Referee Seminar 2024

The Kyorugi Referee Seminar 2024 will be on 05 May 2024, with the objective to share the updated rules and regulations with all qualified referees. Qualified referees who have attended the seminar will be eligible to officiate at all Singapore Taekwondo Federation organized or sanctioned tournament until the next Referee Seminar.

The seminar is also open to all Coaches and trainers for them to have a better understanding of the rules and regulations.

Statement of Anti-doping Policy

The Singapore Taekwondo Federation has on 15 March 2024 signed the Collective Policy thereby agreeing to at all times:

1. Recognise and accept the Anti-Doping Singapore (ADS) as the National Anti-Doping Organisation designated by the Singapore Government as having the responsibility for all doping matters relating to sport in Singapore;
2. Accept the Anti-Doping Policy of Singapore and the ADS Anti-Doping Rules, both of which are established in accordance with the World Anti-Doping Code, as the basis for the fight against doping in sport;
3. Adopt the Anti-Doping of Singapore and the ADS Anti-Doping Rules either directly or by reference into our governing documents, constitution and/or rules and regulations, and which shall have binding force and effect on our members and Participants; and
4. Agree to observe, abide by and implement the provisions of the Anti-Doping Policy of Singapore and the ADS Anti-Doping Rules in respect of our affairs and activities.

The Singapore Taekwondo Federation condemns the use of doping in sport. It recognises the right of all its Athletes to participate in a sport that is free from the misuse of drugs. The Singapore Taekwondo Federation is committed to educate, inform and test, as appropriate, participants competing in taekwondo in Singapore, and representing Singapore, so that it remains a drug-free sport.


It is a requirement of participation in the sport that all its Athletes, Athlete support personnel and other persons under the jurisdiction of the Singapore Taekwondo Federation comply with the Anti-Doping Policy of Singapore and the ADS Anti-Doping Rules set out and published by the Singapore Taekwondo Federation and ADS.

In testing its Athletes, the Singapore Taekwondo Federation is committed to handling the management of results in a confidential and accountable manner and to carry out disciplinary procedures where appropriate by the fair and independent process it has agreed with its members and with ADS, its appointed National Anti-Doping Organisation, for the collection of doping control samples. The disciplinary procedure for a contravention of these rules is published in full in the ADS Anti-Doping Rules.

ANTI-DOPING RULES

The Board of the Singapore National Taekwondo Federation has on 15 March 2024 adopted the ADS Anti-Doping Rules as the Singapore Taekwondo Federation’s Anti-Doping Rules.

The ADS Anti-Doping Rules published by Anti-Doping Singapore (or its successor), as amended from time to time, shall take immediate effect and be construed as rules of the Singapore Taekwondo Federation.

APPLICATION OF ANTI-DOPING RULES

All affiliates, members, athletes, participants, staff and any other individual, paid or on a volunteer basis, who are under the jurisdiction of the Singapore Taekwondo Federation are bound by the Anti-Doping Rules of the Singapore Taekwondo Federation and agree to abide by these Anti-Doping Rules.
