2024 Poomsae Level 1 Coach Course Closing on 3 January 2024

The Poomsae Level 1 Coach Course will be held on 6 January and 7 January2024. This course aims to qualify black belt practitioners as Poomsae coaches and provide them with the passport to become a full-fledged national Poomsae referee. The information are as follows:

Date/Time:January 2024 (Saturday)
– 1.00pm to 6.30pm

7 January 2024 (Sunday)
– 09.00am to 1.00pm
– 1.00pm to 2.00pm (Lunch Break)
– 2.00pm onwards – Tests
Participants must have 100% attendance to be eligible for the tests.
Place:STF National Training Centre
Block 80 Lorong Limau #04-191 Singapore 320080
Dress Code:STF approved ‘Dobok’
Pre-Requisite:– Minimum 1st Dan Black Belt
– Minimum 15 years old
Tests:Theory and Practical tests will be conducted at the end of the Course.
Certification:– Participants will be awarded Poomsae Coach Certificate (Level 1) upon successfully meeting the requirement of the course.
Fees:Registration Closing Date and Course Fee – 3 January 2024 (Wednesday) and *$70.00 (excluding GST)
After 3 January 2024, course fee is *$110.00 (excluding GST)
*course fees subjected to prevailing GST
Note:Slots are limited and based on first come first registration

The 2024 Coach Induction Course for affiliate members who wish to obtain the coach pass will be held on 27 January 2024. The information are as follows

Please take note of the following details and the programme is attached for more information.

Poomsae Component:

  • Senior Category candidates are to report at 8.30 am
  • Cadet & Junior Category candidates are to report at 10.30 am

Kyorugi Component:

  • Senior Category candidates are to report at 1.45 pm
  • Cadet & Junior candidates are to report at 3.45 pm
  • **Weigh in time slot will be strictly from 9.00 am to 10.00 am OR during the respective reporting time slot only.
  • No weight allowance will be given, and STRICTLY NO NUDE WEIGH IN allowed.

Poomsae & Kyorugi Technical Component:

  • Senior Category candidates are to report at 8.30 am
  • Cadet & Junior Category candidates are to report at 11.30 am

Physical Component:

  • Senior Category candidates are to report at 3.00 pm

Essential Information

  • Candidates are to bring along a valid ID with photo for registration
  • Attire for Poomsae, Kyorugi and Technical Component will be STF Approved “Dobok”
  • Attire for Physical Component can be in Sports attire.
  • Kyorugi Candidates are expected to bring their Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including mouth guard and their personal electronic socks (KPNP) for Kyorugi Component on 9 December 2023.

The Singapore Taekwondo Federation (STF) encourages all its Poom and Black belt holders, especially those who wishes to participate in international competitions and seminars, to apply for Kukkiwon Certification.

Those who are interested to apply for Kukkiwon Certification should apply through their respective clubs.

Please submit your application(s) latest by Tuesday, 12 December 2023 for processing in 2023. The application form is available in the form folder on STF website. Please contact Jolene and Audrey at 63451491 if you require clarifications on the conversion process and the rates.

Please be informed Kukkiwon certificates issued through STF bear the signatures of both the Kukkiwon President and STF President. Kukkiwon certificates without the signature of the STF President are not recognised by the STF. Any holders of such certificates will not be
able to receive the support and/or recommendation of STF for participation in competitions, courses and related activities organised or sanctioned by the following organisations:

  • International Olympic Committee (IOC)
  • Olympic Council of Asia (OCA)
  • World Taekwondo (WT)

All qualified members of STF-affiliated clubs are encouraged to apply for the certification as soon as possible after the announcement of their grading results so that they are able to continue to maintain their Kukkiwon ranking seniority.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

1. For Foundation to R2, grading can only be done by qualified Grading Assessors who have successfully completed the Grading Assessor Accreditation Course and have applied for a valid Assessor licence.

2. Submission for the Grading can only be at the STF office during office hours.

3. Please ensure that ALL grading cards are properly completed and duly endorsed. A recent photograph of the candidate must be attached.

4 For ALL candidates who are going for 1st Dan/Poom & above, please have the following documents during submission:

a) Candidate’s grading card

b) 1 recent IC / passport photograph of the candidate

c) Form B (duly completed)

Submission will not be accepted if any of the documents is not available or, for Form B, partially completed.

  1. Submission will not be accepted if candidate fails to produce any of the documents mentioned above.
  1. The last day of submission (Junior Red 1 & above, Senior Red 1 to 3rd Dan) is on 19 DECEMBER 2023 (Tuesday). Any submission after this date will be considered as LATE SUBMISSION.
  1. Late submissions for candidates taking Red 1 & above are to be done within two (2) weeks from 20 December 2023 (Wednesday). Submission beyond the grace period of two (2) weeks WILL NOT be accepted. An administrative fee will be charged accordingly for late submission within grace period. The charges are as follows:

GRADING COMMITTEE

  1. A roll call will be taken at 1.30pm for Red 1 (Senior) candidates going for 1st dan and 2.30pm for 1st dan and higher candidates. Those who miss the roll call will be considered as ABSENT or LATECOMERS. Latecomers will not be graded.
  1. Candidates are to turn up in proper dress code (as stipulated by the STF) for the grading. Candidates who fail to comply with the dress code will not be allowed to take the grading.
  1. Supplementary Grading can only be conducted two (2) weeks before or after the Centralised Grading and will be subjected to the approval of the Grading Department.
  1. While STF will take reasonable measures to ensure the safety of the grading procedure, Candidates will take all reasonable steps to ensure their own safety at all times and will not hold the Federation, the Grading Committee or any of its servants, employees or agents responsible for any such injuries, accidents or mishaps that may befall on them during the course of the grading,

SUPPLEMENTARY GRADING

  1. For clubs that wish to conduct supplementary grading for Junior 1st Poom to 4th Poom, a minimum number of 25 candidates is required.
  2. Please register with the STF Secretariat by 27 DECEMBER 2023 (WEDNESDAY).
  3. An examiner will be assigned by the Federation after the closing date.

COLOUR BELTS

  1. The last day of submission for colour belts is on 30 JANUARY 2024 (TUESDAY). Any submission after this date will be considered as LATE SUBMISSION.
  1. An administrative fee of SGD 5.00 will be charged for late submission of candidates taking all other grades except Brown 1 & above.

NEXT CENTRALISED GRADING

The 192nd Centralised Grading will be tentatively scheduled on 7 April 2024. Details will be shared nearer to the date.
