The Singapore Taekwondo Federation (STF) would like to congratulate Ms Lim Hui Hsien for attaining the qualification of 3rd Class International Kyorugi Referee at the 128th International Kyorugi Referee Seminar conducted by World Taekwondo that was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

It is our hope more Singapore national referees will come forward to be International Referees and contribute to the promotion and development of taekwondo.

The Singapore Taekwondo Federation (STF) is the Singapore national governing body for Taekwondo. In 2024, the STF initiated the promotion and development of Virtual Taekwondo, which is strongly advocated by the World Taekwondo (WT).
The STF hosted the first World Taekwondo Virtual Championships in Singapore in November 2024. Our Team Singapore Virtual Taekwondo athletes performed excellently at this inaugural world championships with a historic medal haul of nine (9) medals comprising four (4) golds, four (4) silvers and one (1) bronze under the leadership of STF Virtual Taekwondo Committee (VTKD Committee) and guidance of STF Board.
With this accomplishment, the STF VTKD Committee is gearing towards enabling our athletes to continue performing well at the next Major Games and Virtual Taekwondo Championships.

We would like to shout out to everyone to join us as Team Nila for GetActive! Singapore 2025 Pesta Sukan Taekwondo competition! You will be undertaking the role of a Sport Specialist Volunteer, assisting in the field of play areas and be directly involved in the running of the competition during Games Times.
We are pleased to announce that Mr Melvyn Fones, CEO-Designate of STF, came on board effective 15 May 2025. He will assume the role of CEO with effect from 1 June 2025.
Mr Fones brings a wealth of experience in sports administration for over 18 years. He was with then the Singapore Sports Council (Sports Planning Division and Spex 2000) from 1991 to 2001; Youth Olympic Games (Head of Sports publications and Sports Information Centre); and the Executive Director of Singapore Bowling Federation from 2018 to 2025.
Melvyn participated in several sports at school and national youth level such as table tennis, hockey, basketball and cross country. His hobbies are Cycling, Sport Fishing, Football (Liverpool fan), Travel and Photography.
Melvyn will continue the work of the previous CEOs and partner our affiliates and stakeholders to further promote and develop Taekwondo. We are confident that his experiences and dynamic leadership will bring the federation toward new heights.

A second run of the Kyorugi Referee Refresher Seminar will be held on 22 June 2025 (Sunday) from 9am to 12noon. This is to accommodate our affiliates who missed out on the last session. Please note for this second run slots are limited to 50 participants on a first-come first-served basis.
Coaching certification and relevant experience will be an added advantage with higher remuneration
