Attire : STF approved Dobok Equipment : KPNP head gear and chest protector
Athletes have to bring their own personal equipment which can include foot protectors. STF will be providing KP&P foot protector for Athletes without the KP&P foot protector.
For equipment provided by STF during the trial, we will sanitize and clean the equipment after each use. For foot protector, please bring your own due to hygiene purposes and to minimize sharing of equipment.

Please note that due to capacity and safety measures only athletes participating in the event with their accompanying coach can enter the National Training Centre. For athletes without any opponent, please also report to National Training Centre during the event day
The World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships was successfully held from 21-24 April 2022 in Goyang Korea. Over 2000 athletes from 70 countries participated in the beautiful city of Goyang.
The Singapore Team, in spite of a two-years hiatus performed admirably at the world stage. The Junior Male Team, comprising of Aloysius Yeo, Ranen Fong and Nicholas Khaw, put up a brilliant performance to reach the Finals and eventually achieved a 5th placing in the Finals with a fearless performance. Nicholas Khaw also participated in the Junior Male Individual event and cleared two cut-off rounds to reach the finals where he also achieved a 5th placing. The Junior Female Team, comprising of Amelia Tan, Germaine Loi and Louise Ng and Junior Female Individual athlete but were shy of reaching the next round. Germaine Loi, in her Junior Female individual event and with Ranen Fong in the Junior Pair event also did admirably to clear their preliminary rounds but closely missed the cut for the finals.
Our senior athletes also performed well in their categories. Brandon Low and Diyanah Aqidah Binte Mhammad Dian Khudhairi performed well in their individual categories against strong opponents. The U30 Female Team, comprising of Diyanah Aqidah, Megan Chin and Tan Wei Jia also did well in their semi-finals but missed the cut for the finals. The U30 Male Team, comprising of Brandon Low, Darren Yap and Dixon Ho did very well in their semi-finals, but only missed the cut by 1 placing for the finals as their presentation scores were slightly lower even though they had the same total score.
Besides recognized Poomsae events, the Singapore team also participated in the freestyle event. Darren Yap participated in the Over 17 Male Individual category and performed brilliantly in the semi-finals by placing 8th in a strong field of 23 participants to reach the finals. He eventually improved on his placing to by one and was 7th in the finals.
The championship was not only participated by our young athletes. Sister Linda Sim won the gold medal in the Recognized Individual Female Over 65 category despite facing stiff competition. This is a fantastic result for the high kicking nun, and a tribute to the longevity that Taekwondo instils. This is Singapore’s first gold medal in a World Championship and the Federation is extremely proud of Sister Linda Sim for her stellar accomplishment Sister Linda embodies the tenets and values of Taekwondo and has been an inspiration to the global community.
The Federation will like to congratulate Sister Linda Sim and the other athletes for giving their best at the world stage. While the last few years has its fill of challenges, the Federation had worked quietly to improve on our governance and high performance. Under the guidance of the Interim Management Committee, the Board, the High Performance Committee, and Coaches Ms. Lee Na Lee and Mr. Lee Jun Seong, our athletes have delivered results exceeding expectations. We believe that this is only the beginning of a brighter future for Singapore Taekwondo.

The Singapore Taekwondo Team arrived at Ho Chi Minh City for the ASEAN Taekwondo Championship 2022. Going against exponents from the likes of Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia, the team clinched a total of 4 Silver Medals and 16 Bronze Medals. The next Coach Induction Course for affiliate members who wish to obtain the coach pass will be held as follows:

On successful completion of the course, participants with a minimum NCAP (Level 1) Technical or Poomsae Coach (Level 1P) qualification may apply for the appropriate passes to accompany players to the competition area depending on the level of their pass.

As part of supporting the National Sporting Agenda, the Singapore Taekwondo Federation (STF) conducts annual Open Selection trials to identify promising athletes to participate in the national squad training as part of developing the pool of High Performance talents to prepare for international tournaments and championships.
This Open Selections 2022 is to recruit new members with the intent to participant in international games planned in 2022 and 2023. All affiliates are invited to participate in the open trials for both Kyorugi and Poomsae events.

The National School Games will be held this year and many coaches have asked regarding the validity of their coach passes. Understanding that many affiliates and coaches were affected by COVID-19, the Federation wishes to extend support and goodwill to our affiliates and coaches by implementing these interim measures on coach passes under the following circumstances:
Existing valid coach pass holders shall be renewed for one year to 31 March 2023 with the coach pass fee payment waived and no further action is required.
New coach pass applications and upgrading of Coach pass will have to adhere to the following prerequisites and prevailing coach pass fee:

The fees for new coach pass applications for Level 1 Poomsae and Level 2/3 Kyorugi will S$35 vice versa.
Existing valid coach pass holders who wishes to upgrade their coaching level will have to present the required prerequisite and making payment according to the listed price above.
We are pleased to announce that the National School Games (“NSG”) is back this year.
As a landmark collaboration with MOE, we would like to shout out to all STF’s Technical Officials with Poomsae Referee qualification to join us and be part of this year NSG actions!
The competition format for this year NSG is the same as previous year with COVID-19 safe measurement measures in place therefore the refereeing shall be done through the review of video recordings of the student’s performance.
Video analysis judging will take place from 17 to 20 May 21 at PSOEB, 20 Evans Road. There will be two session of video analysis judging. You may choose to stay for both session or pick a session.
Session 1: 8.00AM – 12.30PM
Session 2: 1.00PM – 5.00PM
We will require 21 Technical officials with Poomsae Referee qualification daily (17 May – 20 May 2022) due to the strong sign-up expected for this year NSG competition. Please state in your email which session you will like to attend.
Qualified referees with valid Poomsae referee licence who are keen to sign up as Technical Officials (Poomsae Referee) and be part of the 2022 National School Games may submit your application via email to enquiry@stf.org.sg Monday 9 May 2022, 5.30PM.
In addition, interested Technical Officials (Poomsae Referee) will have to be fully vaccinated (2 Dose + Booster) and will have to show proof of vaccination when required.
We regret that we are not able to include any late submission for registration.
