The primary objective of the workshop is to point out to participants their performance flaws and the areas they should work on from the examiners’ perspective.  This will give the candidates a better chance of passing.

During the workshop, participants will be briefed on the grading guidelines and the expectations of the examiners.

Coaches may use the information acquired by their students at the workshop as a basis to guide them for their grading.

All candidates who have attended the workshop are reminded to submit a copy of the certificate of participation with their grading applications.

For red (junior) and 1st poom candidates, a copy of the certificate should be attached to their grading cards.  This is necessary for the examiners to give them special consideration, if required.

The registration form is available in the Forms folder.

Coaches Encouraged to Attend Kyorugi Referee Refresher Seminar

0

Coaches who are not kyorugi referees are encourage to attend the Kyorugi Referee Refresher Seminar which will be held on Saturday 14 July 2018 at 6.00pm at Toa Payoh Sports Hall.

The seminar would cover, amongst other things, the latest competition rules which would be implemented at the National Taekwondo Kyorugi Championships in September 2018.  It will be an advantage for coaches to have first hand knowledge of the new rules to prepare their students for the tournament.

They are only required to attend the theory session which would commence at 6.00pm.

Interested coaches may register for the seminar by Monday 9 July 2018.  The registration fee is $32.10.  Late fee is applicable after the closing date.

2018 Kyorugi Referee Refresher Course (14 July 2018)

0

The annual Kyorugi Referee Refresher Course will be held on Saturday 14 July 2018 from 6.00pm to 10.00pm at Toa Payoh Sports Hall.

All active kyorugi referees must attend the seminar to have their licenses to officiate extended by a year.  Coaches who are national referees are also encouraged to participate in the seminar.  The knowledge will be invaluable to them if they wish to continue to be effective coaches.

Kyorugi referees with expired licenses may also attend the seminar.  Their licenses will be renewed if they pass the assessment which will be conducted at the end of the seaminar for all participants.

As the provision of referees is a pre-condition for participation in all STF organized or sanctioned tournaments, it is important for clubs to have their own pool of qualified referees.

The course will cover, among other things, the latest amendments to the competition rules and regulations which will take effect from the 2018 National Taekwondo Kyorugi Championships.

Participants are to come prepared with their ‘dobok’ and writing materials.   They should be well prepared for the numerous tests which will be conducted to ensure that they are fit mentally and physically to officiate.  They should also be ready to recite the pledges.

The theory and practical tests (includng scoring) will be held on Friday 3 August 2018 at 7.00pm at Toa Payoh Sports Hall.  Those who fail in any of the tests will have to be retested within a week or so.

We plan to end the course punctually.  However, if the overwhelming number of participants does not allow us to do so, they must be prepared for the seminar to end later.

The registration fees are as follows.

–  Closing date : Monday 9 July 2018 – $32.10

–  After closing date – $53.50

The registration form is available in the Forms folder.

2018 National Poomsae Program & Start Lists

The 13th National Taekwondo Poomsae Championships will be held on 2 & 3 June 2018 at Toa Payoh Sports Hall.

Participating teams are reminded that they must provide at least one referee per day per every 30 participants for the duration of the championships to qualify for participation. Referees under attachment cannot represent their clubs.

There will be a team official meeting on Saturday 2 June 2018 at 11.30am (SHARP) at the venue before the commencement of the tournament to brief them on the tournament procedures and more. It is the responsibility of the club officials and coaches to be present for the briefing.

All club volunteers must report to Mr Andy Lee (Tournament Chairman) at 8.00am on both competition days.

Referees are to report to Mr Michael Ho (Chief Referee) at 11.00am on Saturday 2 June 2018  and at 8.00am Sunday 3 June 2018.
