Update to the upcoming open selection trials on 8 June 2019
This is an update to the upcoming open selection trials on 8 June 2019 at OCBC Arena Hall 4.
Please note that the open selection trials will be to identify athletes to participate in the national squad training currently conducted at OCBC Arena.
A training camp will subsequently be held on 17-19 June 2019 and a second selection will be held on 18th June 2019 for the following championships.
- Korean Open (July 2019)
- Kimunyong Cup (July 2019)
- Asian Junior Taekwondo Championships (July 2019)
- Asian Open Taekwondo Championships (August 2019)
In addition to the forms already submitted, participants are to download the NYSI indemnity form and bring a signed copy of the form on the day of the selection.
Participants without a signed form will not be allowed to participate in the selection trials.
NYSI will also conduct a briefing after the trials, which will be open to the participants and their parents. Kindly fill / sign the attached Indemnity form as well
13th National Poomsae Results
The 13th National Poomsae Championship was held on the 25th and 26th of May. The event was a success. We have had participation from all ages.
Attached is the results of all the medalists.
Special congratulations to Ms Lynn Soh from Ildo TKD for her courage and enthusiasm in the sport. Her performance was amazing. You certainly are an encouragement to all of us.
Taekwondo is indeed for all ages.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- Submission for the Grading can only be at the STF office during office hours.
- Please ensure that ALL grading cards are properly completed and duly endorsed. A recent photograph of the candidate must be attached.
- For ALL candidates who are going for Red 1 & above, please have the following documents during submission:
a) Candidate’s grading card
b) 2 recent IC / passport photographs of the candidate
c) Form B (duly completed)
***Submission will not be accepted if any of the documents is not available or, for Form B, partially completed.
- Submission will not be accepted if candidate fails to produce any of the documents mentioned above.
- The last day of submission is on 17 JUN 2019 (MONDAY). Any submission after this date will be considered as LATE SUBMISSION.
- Late submissions for candidates taking Red 1 & above are to be done within two (2) weeks from 18 JUN 2019 (TUESDAY). Submission beyond the grace period of two (2) weeks WILL NOT be accepted. An administrative fee will be charged accordingly for late submission. The charges are as follows:

- An administrative fee of SGD 5.00 will be charged for late submission of candidates taking all other grades except Brown 1 & above.
- A roll call will be taken at 1.30pm for Red 1 (Senior) candidates going for 1st dan and 2.30pm for 1st dan and higher candidates. Those who miss the roll call will be considered as ABSENT or LATECOMERS. Latecomers will not be graded.
- Candidates are to turn up in proper dress code (as stipulated by the STF) for the grading. Candidates who fail to comply with the dress code will not be allowed to take the grading.
- Supplementary Grading can only be conducted two (2) weeks before or after the Centralised Grading and will be subjected to the approval of the Grading Department.
- While STF will take reasonable measures to ensure the safety of the grading procedure, Candidates will take all reasonable steps to ensure their own safety at all times and will not hold the Federation, the Grading Department or any of its servants, employees or agents responsible for any such injuries, accidents or mishaps that may befall on them during the course of the grading except if such injuries occur as a result of the negligence of STF.

NCAP 2 Practical Test (15 & 16 June 2019)
The NCAP 2 Practical Test has been re-scheduled.

Doboks for 13th National Taekwondo Championships
The 13th National Poomsae Championships will be held this weekend at Toa Payoh Sports Hall. SNOC has assured us that this tournament is SNOC sanctioned, just as all upcoming tournaments organized by STF during our temporary suspension.
As previously stated, only STF-approved taekwondo uniform brands, namely Adidas, Daedo, Jcalicu, Kwon, Mooto, Victory(Mudoin) and Wacoku (Champ) would be allowed during competition.
While the license agreement for Nike uniforms expired in September 2017, the ex-supplier is working with STF on an amicable solution for participants with Nike uniforms.
The Management Committee has agreed that Nike uniforms can be worn by participants for the 13th National Poomsae Championships, but that the Nike logos and brand name must be taped over with a white coloured tape. Failure to do so may warrant a disqualification if the participant is in the Field of Play.
Do note that this concession applies only to this championship. STF reserves the right to use only brands for its events and championships.
Extraordinary General Meeting (19 May 2019)
The Management Committee conveyed an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on Sunday 19th May 2019 at 16: 00 pm at the National Training Centre.
130 representatives from our affiliates attended. Once everyone has registered and settled, the meeting commenced at 16:15 pm.
After the opening address by the Acting President, Mr David Koh, Mr Sebastian Lee, the Assistant Treasurer explained in detail the background to the preliminary suspension of STF by WT and SNOC. The representatives then voted on the following resolution.
3. Acceptance
3.1. Acceptance of WT’s Directive for STF Management Committee to step aside.
3.2. Acceptance to allow an Interim Committee to be appointed by SNOC to oversee the management of STF and to implement SNOC’s and WT’s recommendations.
Of the 104 votes casted, 83 voted in favour of accepting the resolution and 21 against. The STF community looks forward to working with SNOC’s Interim Management Committee for the development of Taekwondo in Singapore.
13th National Taekwondo Poomsae Championships
The 13th National Taekwondo Poomsae Championships will be held on 25 & 26 May 2019 at Toa Payoh Sports Hall.
Participating teams are reminded that they must provide at least one referee per day per every 30 participants for the duration of the championships to qualify for participation. The referee may not be the same person. For example, it is acceptable for a club to submit four referees, one each for every competition day. A club will be barred from future participation if its referee fails to fulfil his or her obligations without the approval of the Tournament Chairman. Referees under attachment cannot represent their clubs.
There will be a team official meeting on Saturday 25 May 2019 at 10.45am at the venue before the commencement of the tournament to brief them on the tournament procedures and more. It is the responsibility of the club officials and coaches to be present for the briefing.
Only STF-approved taekwondo uniform brands, namely Adidas, Daedo, Jcalicu, Kwon, Mooto, Victory (Mudoin) and Wacoku (Champ), would be allowed during competition.
All club volunteers must report to Mr Andy Lee (Tournament Chairman) at 8.00am on both competition days.
National Poomsae Referees are to report to Mr Michael Ho (Chief Referee) at 10.00am on Saturday 25 May 2019 and at 8.00am Sunday 26 May 2019.

Many affiliates have requested for the dateline of the submission of the proxy forms be extended till the actual day/time of the Emergency General Meeting.
Due to the urgency of the matters arising, the committee has agreed to the request and have extended the dateline to 4pm or the commencement of the meeting.
