Two New Examiners Appointed

The Management Committee, in its monthly meeting on 19 December 2017, had approved the nominations of Mr David Koh and Ms Alice Ong for the appointment of STF examiner.

They will fill the vacant positions left Mr Ng Hwa Ann and Mr Lim Hyun.  While Mr Ng resigned from his position, Mr Lim had returned to Korea to look for other opportunities.

The Management would like to put on record its deepest appreciation to Mr Ng and Mr Lim for their invaluable contributions to the development of the taekwondo and the organization and welcome Mr Koh and Ms Ong to the Board of Examiners.

2018 Nestle Koko Krunch Junior Taekwondo Championships

The 13th series of the Nestle Koko Krunch Junior Taekwondo Championships would be held on 3 & 4 March 2018 at Jurong East Sports Complex.

Information on the tournament and the entry forms are attached.  Club officials and coaches are advised to read them carefully before submission.

5th Daedo Taekwondo Open Championships Program & Fixtures

The 5th Daedo Taekwondo Open Championships will be held on 2 & 3 December 2017 at Heartbeat @ Bedok. 11 Bedok North St 1, Singapore 469662.

Please note that the team manager/coach briefing will be at 12.30pm on Saturday (2nd Dec) and 8.30am on Sunday (3rd Dec).

Referees are to report to Mr Andy Lee (Chief Referee)  at the venue at 12.00pm on Saturday (2nd Dec) and 8.00am on Sunday (3rd Dec).

Volunteers are to report to the Organizing Committee at the venue at 8.00am on Saturday (2 Dec) to help with the set-up and training and Sunday at 8.00am for training (3rd Dec).

Referees who have not registered but are interested to officiate may report at the above timing to Mr Andy Lee at the venue.

Kyunghee Taekwondo is looking for a full-time and a part-time taekwondo instructor for Kyunghee Pte Ltd.

Part-time Taekwondo Instructor

Working hours: 


Saturdays: 9:00pm to 5:00pm

Sundays: 9:00pm to 5:00pm

For weekends, the instructor can also choose to work either in the morning or in the afternoon.


Qualifications: minimum Black Belt, first Dan

Full-time Local Taekwondo Instructor

Ideal candidate should have the following:

Minimum 4th Dan Black belt from accredited institution.

Advantage if graduated with a major in taekwondo.

Some experience in teaching or coaching taekwondo in a centre or school

Excellent level of taekwondo skills

Able to work in a team as well as individually

Deep understanding of taekwondo etiquette.

The workshop is open to red (senior and junior), poom and black belt holders.  Senior Red 1 and black belt holders are reminded that they will be required to recite the STF pledge at the end of the workshop.

The primary objective of the workshop is to point out to participants their performance flaws and the areas they should work on from the examiners’ perspective.  This will give the candidates a better chance of passing.

During the workshop, participants will be briefed on the grading guidelines and the expectations of the examiners.

Coaches may use the information acquired by their students at the workshop as a basis to guide them for their grading.

All candidates who have attended the workshop are reminded to submit a copy of the certificate of participation with their grading applications.

For red (junior) and 1st poom candidates, a copy of the certificate should be attached to their grading cards.  This is necessary for the examiners to give them special consideration, if required.

Unarmed Combat Course (Level 1) Results (Sep 2017)

The results for the Unarmed Combat Course (Level 1) held on 23, 24 & 30 September 2017 at the STF National Training Centre are attached.

Retest for unsuccessful participants will be held on Saturday 2 December 2017 at 1.30pm  The fee is $21.40.  On the sport registration for those those who have not registered is $32.10 per component.

Those who are interested in the retest must call the STF Secretariat at 6345 1491 by 5.00pm on Monday 27 November 2017 to register.  Payment may be made at the venue before the retest.

Information for Referees for 2017 POL-ITE Taekwondo Championships

The 2017 POL-ITE Taekwondo Championships will be held on 18 & 19 November 2017 at Temasek Polytechnic, Level 2, Block 26A Sports and Arts Center.

Referees are to report to Mr Jimmy Tay (Chief Referee) as follows during the 2 competition days.

–  Saturday 18 November 2017 (Poomsae) at 8.20am

–  Sunday 19 November 2017 (Kyorugi) at 8.20am

Referees who have not registered but are interested to officiate may report at the above timing to Mr Tay at the venue.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  1. Submission for the Grading can only be at the STF office during office hours.
  1. Please ensure that ALL grading cards are properly completed and duly endorsed. A recent photograph of the candidate must be attached.
  1. For ALL candidates who are going for Red 1 & above, please have the following documents during submission:

a) Candidate’s grading card
b) 1 photocopy of the candidate’s Identity Card (front & back) / Birth Certificate (for candidate below age of 12)
c) 2 recent IC / passport photographs of the candidate
d) Form B (duly completed)

Submission will not be accepted if any of the documents is not available or, for Form B, partially completed.

  1. The last day of submission is on 18 DECEMBER 2017 (MONDAY). Any submission after this date will be considered as LATE SUBMISSION.
  1. Late submissions for candidates taking Red 1 & above are to be done within two (2) weeks from 19 December 2017 (Tuesday). Submission beyond the grace period of two (2) weeks WILL NOT be accepted. An administrative fee will be charged accordingly for late submission. The charges are as follows:

50% of the grading fee payable by candidates for their respective grades.
  1. An administrative fee of SGD 5.00 will be charged for late submission of candidates taking all other grades except Brown 1 & above.
  1. A roll call will be taken at 1.30pm for Red 1 (Senior) candidates going for 1st dan and 2.30pm for 1st dan and higher candidates. Those who miss the roll call will be considered as ABSENT or LATECOMERS. Latecomers will not be graded.
  1. Candidates are to turn up in proper dress code (as stipulated by the STF) for the grading. Candidates who fail to comply with the dress code will not be allowed to take the grading.
  1. Supplementary Grading can only be conducted two (2) weeks before or after the Centralised Grading and will be subjected to the approval of the Grading Department.
  1. Candidates will be taking the grading at their own risk and therefore will not hold the Federation, the Grading Department or anyone so concerned, responsible for any injuries, accidents or mishaps that may befall on them during the course of the grading.
