The Singapore Taekwondo Federation will be organizing a Sparring Course (Fundamental) on Sunday 30 September 2018 from 2.30pm to 5.30pm.  Candidates going for their Red 1 to 1st poom or dan will be exempted from sparring if they have the fundamental certification.

The next Grading Preparation Workshop will be held as follows.

The workshop is open to red (senior and junior), poom and black belt holders.  Senior Red 1 and black belt holders are reminded that they will be required to recite the STF pledge at the end of the workshop.

The primary objective of the workshop is to point out to participants their performance flaws and the areas they should work on from the examiners’ perspective.  This will give the candidates a better chance of passing.

During the workshop, participants will be briefed on the grading guidelines and the expectations of the examiners.

Coaches may use the information acquired by their students at the workshop as a basis to guide them for their grading.

All candidates who have attended the workshop are reminded to submit a copy of the certificate of participation with their grading applications.

For red (junior) and 1st poom candidates, a copy of the certificate should be attached to their grading cards.  This is necessary for the examiners to give them special consideration, if required.

The Sparring Course (Level 2) was held on 24 & 30 June 2018.

They will be exempted from sparring for 2nd poom / dan to 3rd poom / dan.

The certificates are ready for collection at the STF Secretariat.

The Referee Refresher Course held on Saturday 14 July 2018 at the Toa Payoh Sports Hall attracted more than 150 participants.

As it was essential for them to have consistency in the interpretations of the new rules of the game when officiating, the course focussed mainly on clarifying the more important rules and applying the rules in various situations. Time was also allotted for practical practice.

Theory, practical and scoring tests were conducted on Friday 3 August 2018.

The Singapore Taekwondo Federation (STF) would like to ensure that the referees are knowledgeable and competent with the new rules before they are allowed to manage the competition.  It is the responsibility of the STF not to compromise the standard as it is also responsible to the athletes and their coaches.

All referees will be required to attend a mandatory review session which would be held on Sunday 26 August 2018 at 2.30pm at the STF National Training Centre. 

Referees who have not completed the scoring component may do so after the review session.

Please call the Secretariat at 6345 1491 by Wednesday 22 August 2018 to register for the review.  No payment will be required.

The results of the NCAP (Level 1) and (Level 2) Technical Courses will be released latest by end of August or September due to the large number of participants.  The examiners require more time to discuss on the evaluation of the participants.  It is necessary to give the participants the fairest outcome.

We apologize to all the participants if we will cause some anxiety because of the wait.

The Kyorugi Referee Refresher Course retest will be held on Sunday 26 August 2018 at 2.30pm at the STF National Training Centre.

The results for the test held on Friday 3 August 2018 will be released within 2 weeks.
