If you are, here’s an opportunity for you to do so.
We are inviting aspiring champions (all categories from 12 years and above) to join the National Training Squad.
The training schedule is as follows.
– Monday to Thursday (7.30pm to 9.30pm) – Friday (7.30pm to 9.30pm) Kyorugi only – Saturday (11.00am to 1.00pm) Poomsae only – Sunday (12.00pm to 2.00pm)
For members of the squad who find difficulty in meeting the schedule, we also provide flexible training periods.
You may join the squad, subject to the approval of your respective clubs, at any time convenient to you by reporting for training at the STF National Training Centre, Block 80 Lorong Limau #04-191 Singapore 320080.
Members of the squads must continue to be members of their respective clubs to qualify to remain in the squads. Affiliates will have the rights to withdraw their players from the squads at their own discretion.
The program and fixtures for the 2017 PA-STF Taekwondo Championships, which will be held on 22 & 23 July 2017 at Toa Payoh Sports Hall, are attached.
Club officials are reminded that only coaches with passes are allowed to enter the field of play with their players.
Male and female players are required to wear the following equipment on entering the arena: head gear (blue or red only), trunk protector, forearm guard, shin guard, groin guard, gloves and mouth piece. Daedo PSS will be used for all categories. The organizer will ONLY provide the PSS head gear, trunk protector and sensing socks for the Senior Divisions. Head gear will NOT be provided for the Cadet, Young Junior & Junior Divisions.
Recycled sensing socks will be provided. If competitors are concerned with the hygiene, they may purchase them at the venue. The cost of the sensing socks is S$90 per pair.
Roll Call will begin at 1.00pm (Saturday) and 9.00am (Sunday)
Volunteers and referees are to report to Mr Andy Lee (Tournament Chairman) on the following days and times.

The overall results for the Poomsae Referee Course held on 11, 12 & 18 March 2017 are attached.
Successful participants who have completed 24 hours or more at the International/National Inter-School Championships will receive Class 3 certification. The rest of the participants must apply for promotion to Class 3 once they have officiated at least 30 hours.
Due to the large number of participants for the seminar which will be held on Saturday 15 July 2017 from 5.00pm at Jurong East Sports Hall, registration will start at 4.00pm.
As the seminar will cover the implementation of new competition rules, participants who are more than 15 minutes late will NOT have their referee licence renewed.
There will be no break during the seminar and all participants are advised to have a light meal before seminar.
The 44th National Taekwondo Kyorugi Championships – Ambassador Cup 2017 will be on 26 & 27 August2017 (Saturday and Sunday) and 2 & 3 September 2017 (Saturday and Sunday) at Toa Payoh Sports Hall.

For this year’s competition, please note the following information.
· The organizers will not accept incomplete submission. Submission after the closing date – that is, 4 August 2017 (Friday) after 1600 hours – will be rejected.
· Participating team must provide at least one referee per every 30 participants for the duration of the championships to qualify for participation. The referee may not be the same person. For example, it is acceptable for a club to submit four referees, one each for every competition day. A club will be barred from future participation if its referee fails to fulfill his or her obligations without the approval of the Tournament Chairman.
· Each affiliate is allowed to field in more than one player per weight category per division.
· The eligibility grade for the national championships shall be based on April 2017, second quarter grading season or the player’s last grading before April 2016 if he or she did not take his or her grading in that month.
· Strictly not allowed to employ coaches from other clubs to coach their members during the competitions and. field their athletes under other clubs
· Clubs must produce sufficient coaches to take care of their own athletes during the competition especially when 4 courts are used. Athletes will be disqualified if coaches from their clubs are not available to accompany them to the arena. It will not be acceptable to use the excuse that the athlete’s coach is at another court as the competition cannot be delayed.
· Introduce head kicks for cadets (12 to 14) and juniors (15 to 17) to provide them the opportunity to optimize their skill development. There will be two categories for the two divisions – that is cadet and junior players can participate in either the head kick or non-kick category. For the head kick category, players will be required to wear headgear with protective face shield.

The briefing and drawing of lots for the 2017 PA-STF Taekwondo Championships will be held on Sunday 16 July 2017 at 5.00pm at the Jurong East Sports Hall (after the centralized grading).
The programme and blank fixtures are attached.
Club officials are advised to check the competitors’ names and their events for any mistakes. Any amendments must be made before the drawing of lots. No changes will be allowed after the draws.
The next National Kyorugi Referee Course will be held on 29 & 30 July 2017 and 6 August 2017 at the STF National Training Centre
Blackbelt players are also encouraged to attend the course as it will help them in the understanding of the rules. The knowledge will stand them in good stead in their preparation for competitions and in the competitions.
All clubs are reminded to have sufficient referees to support their plan to participate in the coming national kyorugi tournament. All participating teams must be represented by a referee each.
